Ex-KHNAM member eyes N Shillong seat

SHILLONG: Former KHNAM member Lurshai Lyngwa who has defected to BJP is optimistic that he will win the trust and support of the people of North Shillong constituency.Addressing reporters at his residence at Jaiaw, he said, “I have been with the BJP for 10 months now. My aim when I get elected is to follow up on the implementation of the tripartite agreement made between Central government, state government and ANVC and the proposed amendment of Sixth Schedule.”When asked about the saffron party’s stand on religion and politics, Lyngwa said, “Politics and religion should not mix.”
