SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Government Press Industrial Employees are furious over being deprived of a holiday on the occasion of Shad Nongkrem on Thursday.
General secretary of the Association Denis Suting pointed out that the press of other departments like Assembly and Agriculture remained closed on the occasion.
He alleged that the matter was even taken up with the concerned authorities but to no avail.
The Association had earlier petitioned the Commissioner and Secretary of General Administration department in this regard. He also said that the Association would submit another memorandum to the Government soon and in case of no response, they would be compelled to approach the court.
