SHILLONG: The Executive Committee of the Dorbar Raid Saw Kur Nongkseh in Upper Shillong has felicitated Rangbah Raid Remdor Rumnong for his services for over 40 years.
A.L Thangkhiew, one of the four Rangbah Raid cum headmen, said the felicitation programme was supposed to be held several months ago but it was delayed “due to unforeseen circumstances”. The programme was held at the Nongkseh Community Hall on November 10.
“We are glad that we could felicitate Remdor and we are grateful to him. We are hopeful that he will continue to carry on with his good work and we will stand by him like always,” said Thangkhiew.
The felicitation programme was attended by Everest Thangkhiew, Bajrim Rumnong, Rangbah Raid and headman, and Kortlin Roy Thangkhiew, secretary of the Dorbar Raid, as well as members of the Executive Committee of the Dorbar Raid Saw Kur Nongkseh.
Royal Thangkhiew, adviser to the Dorbar Raid Saw Kur Nongkseh, lauded the efforts of 73-year-old Rumnong in developing Raid Saw Kur Nongkseh.
Rumnong, the eldest son of (late) Rijait Rumnnong and (late) Roswen Rumnong, took over the reins from his uncle (late) Elfred Roderick Rumnong at the age of 30.
