3 killed, 10 hurt in road mishap

JOWAI: Three persons, including one from Assam, were killed and 10 injured when the vehicle they were travelling in was hit by a dumper truck at Umkiang around 7.45am on Sunday.
The deceased persons were identified as Baldur Pala of Tluh village, Think Dkhar uba of Jarain (Sutnga) in East Jaintia Hills and Bran Summer of Paloi village in Assam.
Police said the victims were travelling in a Tata Sumo from Khliehriat in East Jaintia Hills to Kalain in Assam and on reaching Umkiang, their vehicle collided with a dumper truck killing the three on the spot. The bodies have been handed over to the families.
The injured have been admitted in a hospital.
