TURA: The annual youth meet of the UDP at Asanang in Rongram, 18km from Tura, decided to file a series of RTIs to unearth alleged anomalies in the present government.
The youth meet also discussed the alleged misappropriation of Central funds by the GHADC executive committee led by the NPP-BJP-GNC alliance.
The illegal mushrooming of teer (archery) counters leading to large-scale revenue loss to the State and transportation of coal were also discussed by the party leaders who are planning to meet district authorities in this regard.
Among those who attended the party meet were UDP working president Mahamsing Sangma and state vice-president Utpal Arengh.
Meanwhile, enthused over the party’s feat in the District Council, the UDP leaders have decided to work harder to expand the party’s base by working at the grassroots level. The party won two seats in the KHADC.
“To snatch victory in the 2018 elections we will have to be more active and make our presence felt,” said UDP joint secretary Anand Sangma.
