State lad to represent India in U-16 AFC Cup

SHILLONG: Royal Wahingdoh FC’s Ricky John Shabong has been selected to represent India in the U-16 AFC Cup to be held in Iran next year.
A promising youngster from the state, Shabong is a product of RWFC’s youth development programme and has been a consistent performer all along.
Earlier in March he was also selected to attend the trials for the U-14 National camp in Bhopal.
Shabong thanked his coaches at RWFC on the achievement and hoped to do well for his side in the coveted tourney.
He is the son of Timothy Khongsam and Ialin Shabong.
