MPUF rally in memory of Kiang Nagbah

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Peoples’ United Front (MPUF) will organise a rally on December 30 starting from Kiang Nangbah Government College to the MTC office at Iawmusiang in Jowai to commemorate the 154th death anniversary of state freedom fighter Kiang Nangbah.The rally, which will start at 4.30pm, will be dubbed ‘Jaintia Awakening Day’ with an emphasis on rebuilding the indigenous community.
The organisation will pay floral tribute to the patriot on this day followed by cultural programmes.  Meanwhile, the Khasi Students Union (KSU) will pay homage to the patriot at the monument erected in his honour at Civil Hospital in Shillong at 9 am.
