50-yr-old raped
On December 25 at around 8.30 pm, an unidentified person raped one fifty-year-old woman at her residence at Nongkdait Nongnah village (South West Khasi Hills).
Theft
Range Forest Officer, Umkiang Wildlife Range (East Jaintia Hills) lodged a complaint that during inspection (December 12 to 15) it was detected that miscreants stole two Wildlife Monitoring Camera Traps valued around Rs. 46,000 from Narpuh Wildlife Sanctuary.
Body found
On December 27 morning, body of one John Nongkhlaw (35/40 yrs) was found lying at Laitumkhrah Bazar. Cadaver was sent to CH Shillong for post mortem.
Fire incident
On December 25 at around 10.30 pm, fire broke out in the shop of one Mini Kurbah at Mawlynrei, Nongshiliang under Rynjah police station in which property valued around Rs. 15,000 was damaged. A criminal case was registered in this connection.
17-yr-old found hanging
On December 24 morning, body of one Victor Nongbri (17) was found hanging from a tree near his residence at Lumsohpetbneng village (Ri Bhoi). Nongbri was reportedly missing since December 23.
