Driver killed in accident
The driver of a vehicle was killed when it turned turtle in a village in West Khasi Hills. Police said that on December 25 at around 6 pm, one Mahindra Bolero (ML-04B-9525) driven by one Obestar Sangriang (25) turned turtle at Tiehthawiar village in West Khasi Hills. As a result, the driver sustained injuries and was sifted to Civil Hospital Nongstoin, where the attending medical officer declared him brought dead.
Minor boys missing
Two minor boys Demistar Lyngdoh Mawphlang (11) and Ronister Lyngdoh Mawphlang were found missing from their residence at Mawlai Mawtawar since December 27.
One injured
On December 29 at around 3 pm, one Maruti Alto-800 car (A/F) met with an accident at Lapalang Parmaw, Shillong. As a result, the driver sustained injuries and was admitted at Bethany Hospital for treatment.
House burgled
One Sushila Shahi lodged a complaint that on December 28 afternoon, miscreants broke into her house at Lower Mawprem, and stole cash Rs. 35,000 and five tolas of gold.
Five arrested for truck theft
On December 27 at around 11.30 pm, miscreants assaulted the driver of a truck (AS-01-CC-2746) at Lad Sharai (Ri Bhoi), snatched his mobile phone and drove the truck away. In this connection, Police arrested five persons identified as August Dotri, Luckystar Diengdoh, Aiborlang Mawlong, Semos Jana and Sylvester Nongrum.
Vehicle damaged
One Simon Lyngdoh of Khliehriat East Jaintia Hills lodged a complaint that on December 26 at around 10.30 am, one Loin Suchiang damaged the complainant’s vehicle (ML-05C-1268) and also threatened him with dire consequences.
One arrested for threat
One C. Kharbhih lodged a complaint that on December 25 at around 10 pm, his brother Markmayo Kharbhih created trouble in their residence at Tpep Pale, Jowai and threatened the family members with dire consequences. Police arrested the accused.
