KSU lauds Syiemlieh’s appointment

SHILLONG: The Khasi Students’ Union has expressed happiness at the appointment of David R Syiemlieh as the Chairperson of Union Public Service Commission. “His appointment is an honour to the state and to the indigenous community as a whole and an inspiration to the youth to strive and work hard,” KSU education secretary Donald V. Thabah said in a statement issued here on Monday.
“It is a matter of pride for the state that back in the year 1992, Rose M. Bathew Kharbuli became the first Indian woman to be the chairperson of UPSC,” the release added.
