SHIILONG: Campaign for Change, the North Shillong Legislative Assembly Constituency Ad hoc Committee, has extended support to the rally against human trafficking and violence towards women and children called by TUR and the CSWO on January 11.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, Erwin K. Syiem Sutnga, adviser to the Committee, said with the motto “Speak to defend good, judge fairly and righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy and uphold the nation”, all Dorbar Shnong, Seng Kynthei and Seng Samla and people from all walks of life have been urged to join hands in the rally as they did during the agitation against the deprivation of the powers of the Rangbah Shnong and Dorbars since the recent crimes are not only against women and children but also against humanity.
The Committee will work by holding awareness programmes in all villages and localities of 17th North Shillong L.A. Constituency in both tribal and non-tribal areas to highlight this problem and other vital issues.
