Guwahati: Assam government in a bid to hunt to hunt for investors in the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit beginning next Monday to set up organic industrial units in the state.
Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal has deputed the state’s industry and commerce minister Chandra Mohan Patowary to attend the summit and interact with prospective investors by highlighting Assam government’s policy of ease of doing business and other business-friendly measures adopted by the new government in the state in order to spur industrial growth.
Patowary has been asked to project Assam Government’s bid to facilitate sustainable long-term growth and inclusive development before the Summit.
Meanwhile, as part of the on-going initiative that the State Government has been putting in to propagate the philosophy and teachings of Vaishnavite religious and cultural reformer Srimanta Sankardev especially at the national and international fora, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has announced a cash incentive of Rs. 50 lakh to Srimanta Sankardev Sanskritik Samaj at Bengaluru to set up a Namghar (prayer hall) in the capital city of Karnataka.
In fact the cash assistance has been doled out keeping in view the cultural and spiritual need of the people living in Bengaluru and spread the teachings of Sankardeva in Karnataka.
It may be noted that Assam Government has already initiated a step of setting up of Namghar in New Delhi along with other places of the country and asked Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhavan, New Delhi to look for a suitable land for the purpose.
