SHILLONG: The Synjuk Ki Nongsynshar Shnong ka Bri U Hynniewtrep (SKNSKBH) has expressed concern over the rising cases of rapes of minors in the State.
In a statement to the press, general secretary of the Synjuk, E. L. Blah, said that rape incidents that took place at Mawryngkneng and other places has brought shame to the indigenous communities.
The Synjuk also slammed the case of human trafficking in the State. “We urge the concerned authorities to prevent such incidents and ensure that the guilty are brought to book,” he said.
The Synjuk also urged traditional heads to join hands with the authorities to eradicate the crime.
