SHILLONG: Governor V Shanmuganathan will address the youth at Rajbhavan on the occasion of the National Youth Day and 155th Birthday Celebration of Swami Vivekananda on January 12 at 3.00 pm.
Selected teachers and students of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre will move in a procession to join the celebration at Rajbhavan.
Along with the rest of the nation, the youth of Shillong will begin the said celebration early morning with a marathon race to be triggered off from Fire Brigade ground at 7.00 am.
Attractive cash prizes for the winners (Rs5000, RS3000, RS 2000 respectively) have been announced by the State government.
The Ramakrishna Mission too will award the winners with free courses.
Meanwhile, the cutting of birthday cake will be done by Paul Lyngdoh, MLA, who will chair the function at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Quinton Road, to be held from 10.30 am to noon on the same day.
Ramakrishna Mission will also organize a blood donation camp and a cleaning drive in and around Quinton Road area on January 11.
