BSF arrests B’deshi national, rescues Tokay gecko

SHILLONG: The BSF troops deployed at Barsora in West Khasi Hills district arrested a Bangladeshi when he was trying to cross over from India to Bangladesh. The accused has been identified as Tajul Islam (20), a resident of Sunamganj district in Bangladesh. The BSF seized two mobile phones, chargers, headphones, wrist watches, a handbag and Rs 3,000 in Indian currency. In another incident, BSF troops deployed at Kasinda in East Khasi have rescued a Tokay gecko. The jawans saw a man crossing over to Bangladesh with a bag. When they stopped him and started questioning he left the bag and fled. When searched, BSF found the gecko in the bag. Last October, the BSF troops rescued a Tokay gecko from the same border area.
