GH anganwadi workers to go on strike from Jan 20

TURA: Anganwadi workers from Garo Hills have threatened to go on indefinite strike from January 20 in protest against non-payment of salary for six consecutive months.
The anganwadi workers, under the banner All Garo Hills Anganwadi Workers Association, have set a deadline of January 19 for the government to clear their dues.
Besides, other demands of the association include revision of latest honorarium as per the Government of India, increase in the cost of firewood from 45 paisa to Re 1 a day, LPG connection in all anganwadi centres, immediate release of additional honorarium of Rs 50 which was supposed to be paid a few years back and immediate transfer of the Dalu CDPO.
