Guwahati: Three Muslim United Liberation Tigers of Assam (MULTA) militants were apprehended by security forces in Assam’s Kokrajhar district.
Acting on specific information, a joint team of the Army and Police launched an operation in Nayekgaon area of the district Monday night and apprehended the trio who were moving about in a suspicious manner, the Defence spokesman said here on Tuesday.
The three apprehended have been identified as Zehrul Islam, Javed Ali and Ajit Ali, all residents of neighbouring Bongaigaon district.  The security forces also recovered seven rifles from the militants who were allegedly involved in extortion and arms dealing activities, the spokesman added.
