SHILLONG: The depiction of evolution and cosmic harmony had never been so interesting and simple as was presented by a group of students of Army Public School in Umroi.
The students, at the annual day celebrations on the theme ‘Living under the same sun’ on January 16, through narration and dance showed the process of evolution and how humans have been a major agent of change, both socially and technologically.
The sun narrates the story of its birth and the birth of the universe where at a certain slot of space a beautiful world evolves which is depicted by a medley.
As a giver of life on earth, the sun shows, through a group dance, the development of distinct cultures among people. The sun stands witness to all human activities and also to the fact that man has been the major agent of change in the world.
This is depicted through use of technology and in harnessing the natural resources and energy.  Despite all the conflicts, however, the sun remains optimistic that there will always be periods in history and in the tide of time for positive reformation among people so that life remains peaceful and in harmony, depicted through fancy dress and an English skit.
Patron Major, General Rajeev Sirohi  graced the occasion as chief guest. Later, students and teachers were felicitated.
