SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Peoples’ United Front (MPUF) reached its five-day agitation and it has conducted a signature campaign demanding reinstatement of former West Jaintia Hills DC, Arun Kumar.
In a statement to the press, the organisation claimed that hundreds of people have showed their support in restoring Kembhavi as the DC who was recently transferred to Nongstoin.
The organisation lauded the efficiency of the DC especially towards the poor sections of the community unlike the politicians.
They alleged that his transfer is due to the handiwork of some politicians.
“We want to let the representatives know that they should not master over us,” the organisation said. Demanding from the state government and MLAs in Jaintia Hills to restore Kembhavi as Jowai DC, the organisation has threatened to intensify their agitation.
