Sale of counterfeit products
One Debasish Das of 1/6 Basement, Kalkali Extension, New Delhi lodged a complaint that while conducting survey at Police Bazar, it was detected that some shop owners are selling counterfeit products of Hindustan Unilever Ltd.
Body of 60-yr-old found
On January 21 at around 11 am, one decomposed body identified as that of one Sher Bahadur (60) was recovered from a drain at Polo Bazar.
Gelatin sticks seized
On January 20, Police conducted raid in areas under Khaidong (East Jaintia Hills) and seized forty-one gelatin sticks and forty detonators from one coal quarry. Police also detained one Jenis Lyngdoh of Sutnga village, who was transporting a generator from one camp to another in one recovery van.
Man assaults daughter
On January 17 at around 11 pm, one Living Malngiang assaulted his nineteen-year-old daughter at her residence at Thangshalai, Mawryngkneng (East Khasi Hills). As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was admitted to Nazareth Hospital.
Fraud
Kailash Verma of Pegasus Crown, Police Bazar, lodged a complaint that on January 17, he received two e-mails from Income Tax officials informing him that his password and digital signature has been updated. The complainant suspected that one Sushyant Verma and one Kamala Verma had by deceit, forgery and fraudulent means changed the password and digital signature to gain wrongfully by defrauding the government and other statutory agencies besides the company Pegasus Hotels Pvt., Ltd.
Truck runs over 50-yr-old
On January 16 at around 10 am, one Phobestar Wahlang (50) fell down from a running truck (ML-10-7052) driven by Dekstun Nongphud at Pomdkhar village (WKH) and was run over by the same truck. As a result, he sustained injuries and was shifted to NEIGRIHMS, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Assam resident killed
One Krishna Mala of 3 Kilo, Dima Hasao, Assam lodged a complaint that on October 19, 2016 evening, one unidentified person assaulted his brother Raju Mala and his friend Sajan Bishwa at Saphai market (West Jaintia Hills). As a result, the victims sustained injuries and were shifted to PHC Priang and then to Civil Hospital Jowai. Later, Raju Mala was shifted to NEIGRIHMS, where he succumbed to his injuries on January 15.
