R-Day greetings

General meets
The annual general meeting of the Khongsit clan will be held at Laitmawroh-Ramkheng (Laitlyngkot) at 11 am on January 28. All members of the clan are invited to come.
The general meeting of Mawthoh clan will be held on January 27 at Bhoi Rymbong (Madan Kurkalang) at 10 am. Members of the clan are requested to attend the meeting.
Members of the Gorkha Association are invited to the emergent general meeting on January 29 at 12 pm in Kot Ghar (Gorkha Durga Mandir), Luckier road, Shillong.
Office bearers
The UDP Youth Wing Shillong City will elect new office bearers on January 27 at Donkupar Roy’s residence opposite Pine Mount School, at 4 pm.
Clarification
The state government has clarified that it was not a fact that the Minister in charge Higher and Technical Education Roshan Warjri gave any assurance in the meeting with the HYC to make Khasi (MIL), a compulsory subject in the Higher Secondary Level, as reported in a section of the media.
Flag hoisting
The Deputy Secretary of Meghalaya, GAD (A), has informed that on the occasion of the Republic Day, D. D. Shira, Chairperson, Meghalaya Resource & Employment Generation Council will hoist the National Flag and take the salute at Ampati in place of M. M. Danggo, Minister in Charge PWD (R&B).
SK Oil
The DC (Supply), West Jaintia Hills District has informed that the price of S.K Oil price has been revised and fixed with immediate effect. The wholesale price from Jowai and Thadlaskein Depot will be at Rs. 18.85 per litre and the wholesale price from Shangpung outlet will be at Rs. 21 per litre. The retail price in retail centres from Jowai and Thadlaskein S.K Oil Depot will be at Rs. 20.76 per litre while Shangpung outlet is at Rs. 23.15 per litre.
