SHILLONG: The CSWO has demanded “thorough and independent” probe into the alleged molestation by former governor V. Shanmuganathan and the functioning of Raj Bhavan and said it would petition the Prime Minister in this regard.
CSWO President Agnes Kharshiing alleged on Saturday that many illegal things were happening inside Raj Bhavan, like appointment of staff without following the service rules.
“We want the inquiry to be independent and not from the State since it will be biased,” she said.
Kharshiing said the organisation would also question the role of Secretary H.M Shangpliang for allowing such things to happen inside the Governor’s house.
“IAS officers are supposed to ensure that all matters inside Raj Bhavan take place as per procedures,” she added.
However, Shangpliang said that there was no complacency on his part on the affairs of  Raj Bhavan and added that this was also explained to the staff during his meeting with them on Friday
CSWO will soon petition Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Though there are growing demands for conducting an inquiry into the affairs of Raj Bhavan, neither the Centre nor the State Government has spoken anything on the matter.  However, the State is updating the central government about all the affairs in Raj Bhavan.
