Defectors use organisation as platform: KHNAM

SHILLONG: KHNAM asserted that party defectors used KHNAM as a platform.
When contacted, Adelbert Nongrum, KHNAM working president said that have seen that many use the organisation as a platform only to pave a way for themselves as they don’t have recognition in other party. “As a party we will search for people who are serious, sincere and faithful. We have found that there are some who could not stay firm in the party, we need people who are strong minded and understand the foundations of the party,” he added.
Nongrum pointed out that the party aims to reach out to the public on various contentious issues ranging from ILP, reservation policy, boundary issues in the state. “These issues will not only end on election campaigns but it will continue in the interest of the people,” he added, informing that the preparation for 2018 elections is ongoing.
KHNAM also elected new office bearers during the general convention of the party held at Mawlai Polytechnic on Saturday.
Pyndapborthiaw Saibon, as the president of the party, working president- Adelbert Nongrum, MDC, vice president-James Ban Basaiowmoit, MDC, vice president-Thomas Passah, general secretary Batkupar Wahlang besides others.
