SHILLONG: School Education and Literacy Minister Deborah Marak will take up the issue of agitating SSA teachers with Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar.
The teachers are demanding rectification of D.EL.ED results and had issued a two-week deadline to National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) to reissue the results.
Marak told reporters on Tuesday that she will go to New Delhi on February 4 and she will try to get an appointment with the HRD Minister to discuss the issues pertaining to the teachers.
“I will also discuss the issue of SSA teachers with the Minister,” Marak told reporters on Tuesday.
The teachers, under the banner Meghalaya SSA Schools Association, have also threatened to close down the NIOS office if their demand was not fulfilled.
The SSA teachers have also petitioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this connection.
