Guwahati: A ‘No Horn Ok Please’ Campaign was launched by the Young Indians (YI) in association with Guwahati City Traffic Police here to spread social awareness on road ethics. The aim of the campaign is to spread awareness on responsible parking and initiating action at the community level to reduce the growing menace of vehicle honking.  The ‘Horn Not Ok Please – Avoid unnecessary Honking’ is a nation-wide campaign carried out by YI, the youth wing of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), against unnecessary honking.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police told media, “Many of us lack knowledge on traffic rules and regulations. And this lack of knowledge adds to congestion and unwanted noise pollution. Unnecessarily honking of cars is not a solution to heavy traffic.” Young Indians, Guwahati Chapter Chairperson said, “We were looking at conducting an awareness campaign with the aim of reaching out to a larger audience with our central message for reducing noise pollution while driving and also promote road safety measures.
