Man ‘falls to death’
The body of a young man was found lying in a pool of blood at Lapalang in Pdengshnong on Monday. Police said the body was of 33-year-old Hemant Chandra Roy. The deceased is suspected to have fallen to death from a building.

Extortion
Mridu Chanda Deb of P.A.S Police Public School, Tura (WGH) lodged a complaint that on Feb. 4, she received anonymous phone calls and text messages, wherein the sender demanded Rs. 10 lakhs from her and also threatened her with dire consequences.
Accident
On Feb. 4 around 6.30 pm, one Mahindra pick-up vehicle dashed against one auto-rickshaw (ML-08F-6583) at Patranga village in West Garo Hills. As a result, one occupant of the auto-rickshaw Abul Hussain (43) sustained injuries and was shifted to PHC New Bhaitbari. Later, the injured victim succumbed to his injuries on the way to a hospital at Goalpara, Assam. Drivers of both the vehicles fled after the incident.
