Mentally unstable woman raped

SHILLONG: A mentally unstable woman was raped in a village in West Jaintia Hills recently. Police said the incident took place on February 3 when one Klik Lawai (45) raped the 46-year-old mentally unstable woman at Umladang village. According to police, the victim and the accused are neighbours and the woman was raped when people of the locality were away watching a football match in the village.  West Jaintia Hills Police has registered a case in this connection even as the accused has gone absconding.
