NONGPOH: Senior working president of United Democratic Party (UDP) Bindo M Lanong has lashed out at Congress MLAs for allegedly misusing their positions to meet their vested interests.
Lanong said the State had gone from bad to worse under the leadership of Congress leaders like Mukul Sangma to DD Lapang. He alleged that Congress MLAs are “wasting their time in bickering” instead of serving the people.
He took a dig at Congress leaders, Lapang and Sangma, for shielding Julius Dorphang who was arrested for raping a 14-year-old girl.
The Mukul-Lapang duo also took an adamant stand on the issue supporting Home Minister HDR Lyngdoh, he observed.
“What do we expect from a State government which does not reveal the truth? It is up to the people now to decide whether they want the Congress to come back to power,” he added.
Lanong addressed a UDP meeting organized by the Umroi Circle on February 7 at Bhoirymbong Lumsohpieng.
