JOWAI: The anti-narcotics cell of West Jaintia Hills district organised a two-day Futsal at U Kiang Nangbah Stadium as part of a campaign against drug abuse among the youth here.
There were 32 teams in the programme, besides other individuals who participated in various activities.
“We are trying to help our youth. We are helping them to understand life properly. Life is precious and the society needs them for a good cause,” said sub-inspector Arki Wahlang, in-charge of the narcotic cell. It was Wahlang’s initiative to organise the FUTSAL, which was the first of its kind in the State and main part of the Positive Addiction Campaign.
Volunteers who have been de-addicted were also part of the programme.
