Action sought against WKH cops

SHILLONG: The Chairperson of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Meena Kharkongor, has asked the West Khasi Hills SP to take action against the accused who sexually assaulted two minor girls as well as police personnel for dereliction of duty.
TUR leader Angela Rangad and one Ribor Kharsynniang had lodged an FIR against the police personnel of West Khasi Hills for neglecting duty.
Kharkongor, in her letter to SP Sylvester Nongtnger, has sought action against everyone “if the basis of the FIR is true.
The allegations against the police personnel are still being investigated.
After the parents of the two minor girls refused to lodge FIR, West Khasi Hills police took suo moto cognizance of the case and arrested the accused, Kynsaibor L. Nonglait, last Saturday.
