SHILLONG:  Kishan Gurung, a warden of the Shillong District Jail, who was arrested along with three others for possessing contraband, has been put under suspension.
Gurung had earlier, in an inebriated state, detained a group of under-trial prisoners for breaking a tube light inside the Shillong District Jail. Later, a group of inmates assaulted another warden inside the jail.
Few days after the incident, four persons, including Gurung, were arrested from Thangkhiew petrol pump near Bimola Point and police had seized suspected heroin from their possession.
