New market inaugurated
NONGPOH: Chief advisor to the State Government D.D Lapang on Thursday asked the villagers of Markang village on the Assam border not to sell their land for prosperity and development.
Addressing the gathering, Lapang said the new market will help villagers, who would earlier find it difficult to take their products to faraway local markets, sell their products at ease.
The market was set up on land donated by the Raid Marmain that consists of more than 25 villages.
Lapang handed over work order to the tune of Rs 8 lakh, which will be equally shared by the MP and the MLA schemes, for basic infrastructure like stalls and toilets in the market.
