SHILLONG: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has issued No Objection Certificate for the Ranikor-Maheshkola stretch of the RanikorMaheshkhola-Mahadeo-Rongra Baghmara Road for widening.
As per the status report, the 129-km road will be taken up by M/s Holtec Consulting Pvt. Ltd at a cost of Rs 695.15 crore.
The publication of Section 11 of the notification is to be done by the Deputy Commissioner and even the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) has issued the NOC for Maheshkola-Baghmara portion.
The land acquisition is in progress. Section 18 of the land acquisition is likely to be issued by the end of the month.
Once the road is complete it will act as a tourist circuit road connecting the exotic Ranikor with Baghmara and hence it can be used by tourists who would like to visit the Balpakram National Park.
