NPP leader resigns

TURA: NPP vice president from West Garo Hills, Nidhuram Hajong, has resigned from his post as well as the primary membership of the party citing personal reasons.
Prior to the 2008 Assembly elections, Hajong, who was elected from Mahendraganj constituency on a Congress ticket, had resigned from the party and unsuccessfully contested as Independent from Mahendraganj.
Later in 2013, he contested from Samajwadi Party, but was defeated by Chief Minister Mukul Sangma’s wife Dikkanchi Shira. He joined NPP in January 2014.
