Caution against windy season in city

SHILLONG: The Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority, East Khasi Hills District has issued an advisory to the general public to take extra care during this windy season to avoid incidences especially fire and to get wiring/electricity properly checked. In a statement, the DC advised the people  to remove branches or dying trees close to the house and to ensure safe keeping of all objects such as lumber piles, loose tin sheets, loose bricks, garbage cans, sign boards etc. which can fly away in strong winds.
