Over 3 lakh rural households gets electricity

SHILLONG: As many as 3,23,755 households in Meghalaya have been electrified under the Rural Electrification Programme of the Centre.
According to the Garv dashboard (or All India Village Household electrification dashboard), there are 6553 villages in the State with 4,63,024 households.
The Garv dashboard says that 78.92 per cent households (73,279 out of 92,847 households) in East Khasi Hills have been provided electricity.
In Ri Bhoi district, 32,699 households have been electrified in 591 villages and 86603 out of 113935 households in West Garo Hills have also been covered under the electrification programme.
