Absconding rape accused loses job

SHILLONG: One of the accused in the rape of the 14-year-old girl, Sudhir Kr Paul whom she named as ‘Prof. Roy’ was terminated from the career academy he was working with.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, M. K Majumder, Director of Sacred Heart Career Academy near Fire Brigade said that Paul, who was the office manager with the Academy, was terminated from service on February 23 following his alleged involvement in the sex racket case involving the minor girl.
Recently, police issued a look out notice for Paul after he absconded following the crime which resulted in the arrest of as many as 18 persons including Mawhati legislator Julius Dorphang.
The lookout notice issued to the SP of North 24 Parganas (Barasat) in West Bengal on February 20 states that the accused, a resident of Bizpur in North 24 Parganas, is wanted in connection with POCSO Act.
