SHILLONG: Irene Hujon of the Civil Society Women’s Organisation (CSWO) said the NGO was not involved in the ILP agitations. She alleged that Agnes Kharshiing, who was part of the protests in 2012-2013, used the name of the organisation and “she should be held accountable.
Hujon had earlier claimed that she was the real president of CSWO and Kharshiing was illegally claiming to be the chief. The latter is contesting the damage suit case related to the ILP protests.
On November 6, 2013, the organisation under Hujon had written to the then deputy commissioner of East Khasi Hills that the or (ganisation was not part of the agitations, a statement issued on Sunday said.
“The public and government should be wary of this person (Kharshiing) who is illegally using the name of CSWO. The CSWO central body will in no way take responsibility for any of her actions. We condemn Kharshiing who has tarnished the image of CSWO. The organisation was formed with an aim to be a social organisation and it is neither a crime investigating agency nor a money-making one,” said Hujon.
