SHILLONG: Separate incidents of rapes, molestations and sodomy were reported from across the state.
On February 27, Ajoy Marboh (24 yrs) raped a 16-year-old girl at Mawmang, Mawryngkneng (East Khasi Hills).Police arrested the accused.
Again, on February 21, at 11 am, Khrawkupar Kharbani raped a 14-year-old girl at Madan Jira village (West Khasi Hills).
A woman lodged a complaint that on February 26 at 4 pm, three persons, Phamly Rymbai, Brightstar Muksor and Ten Muksor attempted to molest a 13-year-old girl, while she along with her friends went for a walk at Musiang Lamare Rim (East Jaintia Hills).
In another incident, on February 15, Khlur Manik Wahlang attempted to outrage the modesty of a woman at Mawshut village (WKH).
A person from Rongkhon Songgittal, Dakopgre (West Garo Hills) lodged a complaint that on January 26 the accused identified as Saifuddin Ali (60) sodomized his son at the locality.
