Seminar focuses on new trends in tribal literature

TURA: Literatures of 13 tribes, including Khasi, Pnar and A’chik, are in focus at a seminar sponsored by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi. The two-day seminar on ‘Recent Trends in Tribal Literature of the North East’ organised by the A’chik Literature Society (ALS) in collaboration with the Garo and English Departments of NEHU, Tura campus, began on Tuesday at the university’s conference hall. The other tribal languages which will be discussed in the context of changing trends in literature are Karbi, Dimasa, Boro, Rabha, Mizo, Mising, Kokborok of Tripura, Monpa of Arunachal Pradesh, Tenyidie of Nagaland etc.
