KHADC fund embezzlement

SHILLONG: The UDP sub-committee on KHADC affairs has stated that it will wait for the report of the House Committee which is probing the misappropriation of Rs 2 crore in the Council.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting on Monday, Jemino Mawthoh, member of the sub-committee said, “We will see what emerges from the report and take our decision accordingly. There are financial irregularities, but we want to take one step at a time.”
Replying to a query on the evidence sought by Governor Banwarilal Purohit, he said that relevant documents were submitted to him.

“We don’t want to be reactive. Let the House Committee complete the probe and we will see,” he added.
The House Committee has been given a month’s time to complete the probe into the misappropriation of Council funds.
