Teachers’ meet
The All Meghalaya Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan School Teacher’s Association Ri Bhoi District informed that there will be a general meeting of the Block on February 11 at Nomiwell UP School at Nongpoh, at 10 am.
Trucks prohibited
For the safety of service goers for the upcoming ‘Synod Sepngi’ at Mawlai Umshing on March 12, use of open trucks as a means of communication has been prohibited. People have also been asked not to travel in overcrowded public transport vehicles.
‘Native Fiesta’ postponed
The Ri Bhoi Tourism and Environmental Development Forum informed that the Native Fiesta, a cultural festival, which was supposed to be held from March 17-18 at Orchid Lake, Umiam has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. The festival will now be held in October.
Computer course
The Cyber Club run by the Department of Computer Science, St. Anthony’s College in association with the St. Anthony’s College Shillong Alumni Association organised a computer literacy course with students of Savio Juniorate, Shillong.
Workshop
A one-day workshop on ‘Child Protection policy and the role of teacher’ was held at the College of Teacher Education (PGT), Shillong on March 7. The resource person was Br. Solomon Morris, principal, St. Edmund’s School.
Agreement
A 30-year lease agreement for use of the SRGT 1st Ground at Polo by the SSA was signed between the Shillong Recreation Ground Trust (SRGT) and the Shillong Sports Association (SSA) recently. The signed agreement was handed over by senior trustee, JM Pariat to the members of the SSA.
