SHILLONG: The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) Mawlai Circle has maintained that the poster related to rape attributed to the Council is an act of mischief by some people.
In a press communiqué, HYC Mawlai circle general secretary Danny Z Mukhim said that the poster ‘rape but don’t kill’ was not designed by HYC members and was an attempt to tarnish the image of the organisation.
He said that the organization does not have any ‘HYC unit’ which found place in the poster, but only HYC circle.
“The HYC had received an invitation from Manbha Foundation and had sent members of the HYC women’s wing to the rally. Mawlai circle members were present in the event,” he said.  The HYC also warned wrongdoers to not indulge in activities that will tarnish the image of the organisation.
