SHILLONG: Several members of the disbanded ANVC-B cadres did not submit their bank account details delaying payment of the government rehabilitation package, Chief Minister Mukul Sangma informed the House on Friday.
Replying to the discussion on the Governor’s address, Sangma said there was no reason to blame the government for the delay.
He said the government has directed authorities to get in touch with those cadres who have not submitted their account details.
Of the 367 ANVC cadres (161 armed and 206 civilians), three did not take the package and one died. Sangma said initially Rs 5.5 crore was released as part of rehabilitation package for 363 ANVC cadres. In addition, Rs 77.07 lakh was paid as stipend for six months with Rs 3,500 per month.
Later, Rs 2.37 crore was sanctioned for 139 ANVC-B cadres. But out of these only 11 cadres received the package whereas others are yet to receive the same since their savings bank accounts were not in order.
The bank accounts of 53 former cadres were sent for minor corrections whereas 74 cadres are yet to submit their bank details to the government.
