Drug menace: Five held in city

SHILLONG: Three persons, including a girl, were detained by the locals in Mawlai Mawdatbaki on Saturday for allegedly consuming drugs.
The locals handed over Rickelson Jyrwa (28), Rudolf Sohlang (22) and Celine Ranee (18) to Mawlai Police. All three were later sent to Civil Hospital for medical examination.
In another case, on March 8, Keryland Nengnong and Paiaskhem Kharumnuid were apprehended by the Anti Narcotic Task Force of East Khasi Hills from near Vilco School, Pynthorumkhrah. Suspected heroin weighing 0.17 grams, Rs 4980 in cash and three mobile phones were recovered from their possession.
