SHILLONG: The manager of Marvelene’s Inn, Edmund Kharir, was remanded in judicial custody on Tuesday.
Kharir was arrested on February 10 in connection with the trafficking and rape of a 14-year-old girl. He was admitted in Shillong civil hospital immediately after the arrest.
On Monday around 7.30pm, Kharir was referred to North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) but the hospital did not admit him since it was not required.
The manager was booked under Section 21 (1) (2) of the POCSO Act.
