RTI Week celebration concludes in SWGH

Ampati:  The celebration of Right to Information (RTI) Week in South West Garo Hills concluded with an awareness programme at Betasing C&RD Block headquarters on Friday.
Presentations on salient features of RTI Act, 2005 and RTI filing exercise were conducted by the resource persons.
Besides the resource persons, Block Development Officer, Betasing, A.G. Momin, EAC, Ampati M.R. Marak and Betasing Block Development Committee Chairman, D.A. Sangma were among others who also gave talks on the occasion.
Earlier on Thursday, similar awareness programme was also conducted at Zikzak C&RD Block headquarters which was also attended by Block Development Officer, Zikzak, Reuben Momin, Gaonbura of Zikzak, Prabir Hajong and other block functionaries besides hundreds of participants from the area.
As part of the celebration, copies of the handbook on Right to Information Act, 2005 in English and Garo were distributed to the participants.
A noted Garo theatre group called the A’chik Theatre, which have already earned recognition from the National School of Drama, had presented a play to educate the participants on RTI Act on the first day of the celebration at Ampati on Wednesday.
