SHILLONG: Mawlai legislator Embhahlang Syiemlieh has urged pressure groups, who protested outside the Assembly premises on Friday, not to mislead the public and collaborate with him.
Members of FKJGP and HYC protested against the delay in inaugurating Mawlai Block and alleged that the government was focusing on inaugurating blocks under the jurisdiction of Congress MLAs.
The Dorbar Shnong Mawtawar has already issued NoC to freely give away 2 acre of land for setting up the C&RD office within the jurisdiction of Mawlai.
The UDP MLA had a meeting with the traditional heads of Mawlai Town Dorbar to discuss the matter.
Syiemlieh said the State Government cannot be apathetic to the demands of the people of Mawlai.
“I have communicated with the three MLAs of Pynthorumkhrah, Nongthymmai and Sohryngkham constituencies who revealed that they want the office of the block to be in a location that will ease people’s travel to and fro,” Syiemlieh said.
Kynsai M. Lyngdoh, vice president of Mawlai Town Dorbar, said the Director of C&RD recently inspected the place at Mawtawar and stated that the location is perfect.
