Over 1 lakh ml liquor seized during police raid

SHILLONG: Sadar Police Station, Shillong, in its continuous crackdown against the indiscriminate sale of illicit liquor which has become a severe eyesore, cause of nuisance and a threat to law and order, conducted a surprise raid in various restaurants in Polo Bazaar.
During the raid, a total of 1,40,305 ml of IMFL of various brands of liquor were seized from Welcome Restaurant, Nisham Restaurant and Shillong Restaurant.
Police said that the proprietors of the restaurants-Zenzing Youden, Lobsang Lama and Pritam Khati respectively have been booked under Section 110 of Meghalaya Police Act.
The department has strictly warned people from indulging in the sale of illicit liquor and stringent action will be taken against such people and also requests public to provide information on any such activities.
