Shut-down notice
The 33/11KV Bus at Moowakhu (Khliehriat) sub-station will be put under shut-down from 9 am of March 24 to 5 pm of March 25 due to an augmentation installation of the power transformer from 5.0MVA to 10.0MVA at Moowakhu. In view of this, power supply to the whole of Khliehriat, Rymbai, Wapung, Sutnga, Jalaphet, Saipung, Sumer, Nongkhlieh and Iooksi areas will be affected.
Prohibition
The Inspector General of Police (TAP) cum Chairman, CRB, Meghalaya, has informed that candidates appearing for the written test of SF-10 and AB/UB Group are strictly prohibited from carrying anything which will hamper the procedures of conducting the exam. Electronic devices like mobile phones, calculators etc.,will not be allowed in the examination hall.
Awareness programme
The NSS unit of Seng Khasi College in collaboration with the Dorbar Shnong Mawpat organised a drug addiction prevention programme at Mawpat on March 22. Dr Sandi Syiem and his team from San-ker addressed the gathering on drug addiction and the need for better aftercare to help addicts.
Social Work Day
The Department of Social Work, St. Edmund’s College observed the World Social Work Day under the theme, “Promoting Community and Environmental Sustainability” on March 21. The theme relates to the third pillar of the global agenda for social work and social development of March 2012, which aims to integrate human dimensions, promoting community, capacity building in responding to environmental challenges etc.
